Relocating to a new home is always difficult. This difficulty becomes bigger when the move involves a change of country. But, moving to a different country in a context of a pandemic and the Brexit is simply overwhelming. In such a context, my family was lucky to find Citrus Relocation. They provided us with support in all steps of our relocation, from finding a house to connecting the services. But all relocation companies do that. What make of them something different is that they provided me support almost in real time, sometimes helping me to fix issues during weekends and nights.

I was relocating from Stockholm, Sweden to Belfast, Northern Ireland. The relocation was under a very tight schedule with only two months between start and finish. The fact that I during this period also sold my house in Sweden added to the importance of a smooth transition, especially considering I have a family with a wife and three small children. It was very daunting trying to go about moving to London from the States. As well as finding a place to live, we have a teenage daughter who needed to find an open place in a good state school. As the systems for renting are different between the 2 countries and London’s school system is managed by different boroughs each with their own rules, I realized that help was needed.

I chose Citrus Relocation firm to help us and I’m so glad I did.  Their fees are well in line with the other relocation agencies I explored and they had an extra willingness to answer my many questions patiently.

Citrus coordinated the school and home search and communicated well with me throughout the process. They gave me important advice about the best timing for coming over for a 1 week visit about 6 weeks before our desired move day.

I had a school specialist helping me on that front and a fabulous property consultant who took me around in her car to view well over 10 homes. I think over a night, the following words are from my heart. It may be short and simple, but it is what I want to say  and I want peoples to know.  To settle in a place that totally different with your own country is very difficult not because we live in different ends of the world but because the language, the culture, the rules, the way people thinking are very different.  However, I am very lucky that I have Citrus Relocation with me in settling in Canterbury.

In order to rent a house, Sue and I talked a lot about my requirements. She also gave me samples to choose, which could explicitly express my preference. It is proved later to be very helpful in make house searching and make house visiting more effectively. The process of making tenancy agreement is the most difficult part to me because I have no idea about the rules and convention on it. The Citrus Relocation on behalf of me negotiated with landlord and agent which release me from pressure, they also help me in renting furniture so that I could move in at the top speed.
